The project "Volunteer”  continues to work  in the Kommunarsky social work agency. Two kids with special needs have been congratulated with Birthdays at homes. Volunteers mark the big pleasure of children for which the action is done that speaks about necessity to continue work in this direction. Fourth-year students from the program «Social work»  continue to provide  hairdresser's services for young men with special needs. Since April we do home visits and organize classes and leisure activities for the kids who do not leave their homes. 2 volunteers visit in-home two children with special needs.

   In April 4 employees and 10 volunteers of the Center had been conducted lectures on FASD for 150 groups: 25 groups of teachers (on 10 persons), 9 groups of parents (on 10 persons) and 116 groups of schoolchildren (on 25 persons) in Hortitsky, Ordzhonikidzevsky and Kommunarsky areas. Teachers, deputy directors on educational work and schoolchildren of many schools marked usefulness of the information presented by lecturers, and also high quality of presentation of the material.

   Experts of the Florence Center have taken part in a round table on volunteer movement in Zaporizhzhya. The PP presentation has been prepared for the  round table about development of the program "Volunteer" in our Center". 

  We continue to provide training session on socialization issues for teens at school.  We talk  about HIV/AIDS,   about harm of smoking, feelings of fear and disappointment, love and friendship, sexuality, etc. Teenagers were not afraid to ask questions which  interested them. With children of a German cultural society oue specialists have sessions on friendship, development of communicative skills,  value issues. In our work we use interactive techniques, games, discussions. For example, the common drawings, letters, lists of good deeds, stories from a life etc.  

      The program "Kangaroo" continues it’s work. In April 4 specialists worked with families. The  increased staff has allowed to improve the quality and quantity of services for children with special needs. About 100  hours  have been spent in a current of month. Employees of the program "Kangaroo" besides work with children rendered the methodical help to parents. Have organised a puppet theatre, worked with students of faculty of Physical rehabilitation of Institute of management and law. Besides it, our  employees gave lectures to parents of the territorial centres and specialists there. On the invitation of the City methodical centre we made a presentation at the city conference on work with children with special needs. The program "Kangaroo" has started to co-operate with laboratory of special pedagogy at the Zaporizhzhya national university on the project «Music therapy».
