1. The program "Healthy Lifestyle"

 In May, we completed training sessions in schools. We can say that in all the classes we observed the  positive dynamics in building of interpersonal relations. The children learned how to build friendships  with their peers, accept others as they are and learn to control their emotions.

 Here are some of the statements of children:

 "Who would even have thought that after trainings I would be a friend with K! We used to quarrel all the  time! "

 "I liked all the exercises! But especially when we collected the puzzle. "

Also, at the request of the class teacher of a school, we were invited to a parent meeting. During his speech, we have summed up our work with the class talked about the exercises that are performed, and the guys showed photos from exercises. All parents were very pleased with the results of work and invited us into the next school year to continue his studies.

The Project "Stop HIV / AIDS"

This month «Florence Centre" was actively preparing the project on HIV / AIDS for high-school students and colleges students of the city of Zaporozhye. From September 2015 till January 2016 we plan to involve 1250 students into the project. In May and August, we do all the preparations for the project, which includes the development of teaching materials, training of lecturers, the signing of agreements with the administration of educational institutions.

2. The Program "We are just like you!"

In May we had a traditional trip of volunteers from  Zaporozhzhya National Technical University Institute of Management and Law ("International tourism") to the detention center.

This time, along with volunteers-University students we also invited to visit the detention centre funny clowns "Smehonosy." The boys initially hesitated, but then were actively involved in the games which had been offered by clowns. Especially they liked to play with balloons and make animals from them, as well as playing the game “Compliments”.

The  football match was unusual, because the guys were playing with clowns!

3. Participation in seminars, conferences

This month we run the traditional Balint’s group.

All participants are happy to share their stories and help each other find a way out of difficult situations. We are very pleased that we managed to create a group atmosphere of comfort and openness. We see very positive group dynamic. Experts are pleased that they developed high level of trust, actively work on a problem and openly discuss the ways of making a decision.

4. Work with foreign specialists

Center visited a longtime colleague from Canada Tim Toronchuk. There were three meetings, discussed the search for sponsors for the acquisition of a minibus. Especially children need transportation from «Kangaroo" program.

5. The Program "Kangaroo" 

During the month, 19 persons attended the "Kangaroo" program.

This month, staff of the program organized by a forum for parents of children with autism. The forum was dedicated to new forms of work with autistic children, parents have the opportunity not only to get professional help from experts on autism, but also share their personal experiences and get support from the group. Such events we plan to hold monthly to attract the participation of all interested persons.

In May, we are actively engaged in improving our playground: track made of plastic bottles, sand, turf. Kids having fun running around the track to play in the sand, watered grass. In addition, the guys do not forget about our flowerbeds. They watered them regularly and check whether the new flowers sprouted.

One of the highlights of this month was a visit to the zoo store. We were so welcomed there! The kids watched with interest fish, birds, rodents, and studied their way of life. In addition, children have acquired the necessary products for our pets in kindergarten - not so long ago, we became the happy owners of two giant snails! Now every kid happy watching snails feeding, caring for them. It should be noted how important such events for our guys - it's not just getting a lot of positive emotions, it is also a great experience of socialization and interaction with each other and with strangers, they learn to behave  in public places. We are very grateful for the opportunity to carry out such activities, because our children need it!

In May, we held another grand event, which was attended not only by children but also by their 

parents. Employees of the «Florence “ Centre a picnic on the Chortitsa Island. The children and their parents were excited to have fun with outdoor games, competitions, great food and plenty of good cheer. We are happy to have spent such a great time! This event helped to get to know each other better ,unite parents, children and staff together.

  This month, a team of the "Kangaroo" has expanded. Now some of University students work individually with children using ABA therapy and Physical rehabilitation exercise. This work became possible with the support of a NGO “White-and-colored spots.
