The Program "Kangaroo"

During the month, 18 people attended  the "Kangaroo" program.

There were  3 individual counseling sessions, which has been offered expert help in selecting methods for correcting violations in child development.

This month, we regularly visited the sauna and swimming pool. The contrast of temperatures in the sauna and swimming pool enhances immunity and health of our kids.

Regular holding individual lessons gives positive trends in the development of fine motor skills in our younger pupils. Children enjoyed sorting shells, cereals, buttoning and unbuttoning.

March 6 was a holiday dedicated to the International Women's Day. Children produced with their own hands, baskets with spring flowers and tulips-palms, for their mothers, grandmothers and sisters.

Employees of the "Kangaroo” program participated at the conference organized by the library staff, and dedicated to working with children with special needs. Such joint work has a huge advantage - it is not only the exchange of experience, but also professional growth - the opportunity to learn new methods and areas of work with special children.

This month we were visited with surprisingly good and funny clowns. The children  were just delighted with the meeting - each of them could feel like an adult and independent, clowns canceled all inhibitions! The bright colorful costumes and festive bubbles added to the delight of the children.

The "Kangaroo" program was also assisted by our volunteer Maxim, who actively participated in walks and group lessons, and helped conduct outdoor games. It is worth noting that children are very fond of those who come to visit as volunteers.

       Social Аction

This month we began to actively prepare for one of the most important events of the year - the integrative concert "World of Big Hearts." This will be our sixth concert. The main idea of ​​the event is the integration of people with special needs in society to successfully put into practice those events which most people take for granted. Students from boarding schools, University students, volunteers, and other people help to create an atmosphere of friendship and kindness. Traditionally we offer games, where you can play and win prizes, each year attracting more and more visitors. A concert with the participation of various creative studios, circles, and people with special needs proves that talent is for everyone!

We are pleased to announce that this year's festival will be held on 23 April and will bring together more than 400 participants.  More than 60 volunteers will also help. Videos of previous concerts can be viewed here:

            The Program "Healthy Lifestyle"

This year the program "Healthy generation"  focused on improving the mental health of schoolchildren. That makes it the biggest concern of educators. As is well known, friendly and cordial relations with classmates  is one of the important factors of mental health of the child. Therefore, an important goal of our classes with students is a cohesive team and skill development of friendly interaction with each other.

Responding to numerous questions from teachers about how to conduct classes, we replied that the course of lessons consists of 10 sessions.  Depending on the age of the children classes can be either gaming or training. To every child can be given maximum attention, the class is divided into two groups of 12-15 people. This month, we had 6 groups from different schools of the city of Zaporozhye. It is interesting to note that the effect of training is seen not only in the normal communication between the children, but also in the educational process. Children who know each other better are less shy and are not afraid to answer, or to ask each other questions. Training sessions help them to open up and be themselves.

       Training of Specialists of Social Sphere

This month in our Center will continue to conduct the Balint’s group for specialists in the social sphere.

We remind you that the Balint’s group is an effective method of improving professional communication skills, reduce occupational stress and "emotional burnout".

According to the participants, the group allows us to see and understand those aspects that were not previously known.

       The Students' Practicum

In March, we will continue to actively work with our University students. We are very grateful to the students invaluable contribution they make. This month the students (social pedagogues and social workers) helped us in the preparation of the holiday "World of Big Hearts", in the conduct of activities in schools and in the work of the "Kangaroo" program. Thank you very much!

The Program "We are Just Like You!"

In March, we again visited the school of social rehabilitation for boys (detention centre). At this time our coach, Sergey  Bylatov proposed a very interesting and incredibly hectic schedule! Following the traditional warm-up he carried out a sports relay. At the request of pupils of the school, the teams were mixed and consisted of both boys and staff of the Center "Florence" and University students.  All people  participated with enthusiasm and passion!

After the relay we held a badminton tournament! Boys enthusiastically fought for prizes.

And in the end, every one played volleyball.
