"I have learned to understand others, what they want and why."

"I learned to listen to others."

In our opinion, these statements say about productive work that has been     done for several months by the staff and volunteers of our Centre".           Partially the goal of team building and getting communicative skills                   was achieved. At the end of cycle of trainings teachers were left            methodical recommendations for further studies on the development of teams.

 

3. Student’s practicum

 In March we hosted 5 students ( social pedagogues) from Zaporizhzhya National  University. One could say that by the end of practicum the guys have become an  integral part of our Centre.

 During practice, students take an active part in the work of each program,  showing professionalism and undying enthusiasm.  All the goals that were set  before the students during the practicum were achieved.

 

 

We will list just some of the activities the students participated in our center:

 - for  6 weeks they took disable children to the playground and played there;

 - Assisted in conducting classes with children of the "Kangaroo" program;

 - Assisted in the preparation and holding presentations for school students;

 - Participated in  scientific research on FASD;

 - Performs various methodological work if necessary;

 - Assisted in the preparation of integrative concert, etc.

 

 In fact, students have brought  new ideas, the joy of communication and  confidence that with such people, social pedagogy and social work will go  forward.

 Also in March, conducted training courses for students of Economics and Law  College. The students continued to learn interpersonal skills, self-presentation  skills and teamwork skills.

 On March 19, the last lesson of one of the groups of college students took place  and finished with tea and cookies. At the final session guys drew their group picture and gave it to us.  

Students left the  following reviews:

"I loved our training.  I became more confident in their own abilities!  I do not want to end our training here! "

"I am delighted with class!  I see that we have all become more open to each other and became a team! "

"I am pleased to come to training classes!  It was  fun, exciting experience, very  informative time and here always a friendly atmosphere prevailed! "

It is noteworthy that the group  was active throughout the whole set of sessions and really became one big and friendly team.

On March 26 came a new group of students from Economics and Law College.

 

 

              4. "Kangaroo" (work with disable children)

  During the month, 18 people attended  "Kangaroo" program.

  Two individual consultations took place for parents who do not attend our      program, and 6 consultations for families who attend our  program. We gave    orientations in selecting methods for correction of  violent behavior of children    and child’s development.

 Group began to visit two  new children: Zahar, 1.7 years old and Dima, 5 years    old.

 

 

This month, children were given a tour in children's entertainment center "Gemini", 

where children had fun riding on the slide, trampoline, children's play mazes.

The kids had so much fun playing in the dry pool.

Also continue to use the swimming pool.  Many thanks to the volunteers who     go with us in the pool and assist children in learning to swim.

On March 7 took place  a holiday dedicated to the International Women's       Day. Children made  gifts for Mothers, grandmothers, sisters, with their           own hands.  Parents enjoyed the gifts very much!

This month we have a stable group of children who attend our program            and it helps to do effectively music morning exercises, finger exercises            and articulation, as well as group classes (applications, painting, puppet theater, design, modeling of salt dough).

Continuing collaboration  with a speech therapist and a music therapist.

March 14 was held a parents' meeting at which were discussed general organizational issues (development of  children's Portfolio) and the joint interaction of parents and program staff   "for the successful development of a child”.

This month every day  we were preparing for the integrative concert.  Our children will be performing on stage, will sing a song and dance.  This will certainly help to develop children’s talents.

Continue daily walks with the children on a playground where children  communicate with other children and play with them in outdoor games.  Many thanks to student volunteers who help us.

5. Participation in seminars and conferences

We participated in a seminar: "Modern technologies of fundraising in the social sphere."  The seminar was organized by  Zaporizhzhya city center of social services.   At the seminar we made the presentation about our experience in fundraising.

 

6. Preparation of methodical materials

This month we had prepared an article “The Role of NGO in Preventive Work on FASD” for a scientific journal.

 

7. Social action

In March we  were actively involved in the preparation for the integrative concert  which will take place April 10, 2014.  Games and concert  are already prepared.
