1. "Kangaroo" (work with disable children).
The "Kangaroo" provides an early social rehabilitation of
children with special needs from 0 to 6 years. Within a month, 11 people
attended classes under the "Kangaroo" program. For each child we
summed up the results of the work, adjusted
a program of the development for the next month. We note some changes
and progress in work.
Melania makes sketches to the
sounds of buttons of the game "Paletto”,
knows the names of all the elements. She climed one more step in the vertical
ladder, has become less afraid of heights,
squat better. Independently started doing some movements: finger
exercises, musical exercises during morning exercises.
Nikita has accustomed to the rules of the program. Especially effective
in helping the pedagogue with the other children. Tries to repeat aloud the
instructions of the pedagogue that stimulate the other guys to speak.
Daily we take kids outdoors, to
integrate children with special needs in society. Useful was the work of the
two volunteers in walking children.
March 6th was a
holiday, International Women's Day. The parents were satisfied with the video
of the performance of children during an matinee, the behavior of their
children has improved significantly.
This month was fixed stable visitation, which helped especially to perform the musical classes, the morning
execises with fingers and articulation exercises.
Conducted 7 individual psycho-pedagogical consultations with parents.
Local TV took a video of group classes for children and interviewed the
leader of the "Kangaroo" program.
2. "We are just like you!" (work at the
detention centre)
This month the detention centre was visited by volunteers from Zaporozhye National Technical University Institute
of Management and Law major "social work". Students prepared a quest.
This form of work carried out for the first time, but the boys loved it! The
guys with the enthusiasm and interest were performing tasks, and of course won!
Meeting of volunteers and students was finished with a volleyball game.
We also came to an agreement to
conduct a research on how to help teens
to develop a healthy lifestyle.
3. Social action
In March, actively carried out the preparatory work for the integrative
concert. Was recruited a group of
volunteers who will conduct fun contests before the concert. Participants of
the concert are the kids from "Kangaroo" program, the pupils of the
boarding school, students of the school
of fashion and style, and many other creative teams.
4. Student’s practicum
In March, ended the practice of students major " social worker” The
students have had a significant contribution to the work of our organization,
developing a lecture on youth subcultures. The students also helped with the
organization and of activities for
children on team building in one of the schools. According to their responses,
it was very interesting to participate in all activities and to really work
with clients. After the practice the
students took part in the sports activities in the detention centre, and agreed
to assist in the conduct of toy libraries at the integrative concert.
Continued the training sessions for students of Economics and Law
College . Guys with great interest
participated in all assignments. In addition to training sessions, many
students expressed a desire to participate in integrative concert.
Students of "social work" continues to participate as
volunteers at the Mennonite family centre.
5. "Healthy Generation" (work with teens at
school on prevention of smoking, drinking, drug use, on communication, decision
making, etc.).
In March, there were 9 classes in the program "Healthy
Generation". Continued trainings on team building for children at schools.
We saw the positive dynamics during our work: the children were more unified,
communicated more, tried to support each other in teamwork. Conducting classes
scheduled untill the end of the school year.
Also in March, completed training on how to choose a profession
(ninth-graders). The guys said that got a lot of useful information about
career choices, learn to make the right decisions, the understanding how to set
and achieve goals.
In March the Centre "Florence" has got an approval from MCC to
strat FASD project. Scheduled to be held 225 lectures in 30 schools of the city
of Zaporozhye (for pupils, parents and teachers).
A similar project has already been implemented by our center in 2010 and
showed a greater need of schools in conducting such activities among students.
That is why it was decided to continue the project and reach more children.
The project will be implemented from April 2013 to March 2014.
6. Counsling
Was conducted individual counseling on parenting issues in the
transition to adulthood.
7. Preparation of methodical materials
The staff has developed a
teaching material for training sessions in the schools of the city. |
