1. "Healthy Generation" (work with teens at school on prevention of smoking, drinking, drug use, on communication, decision making, etc.).

In January, our center began a series of training sessions in the four classes of different schools. Topics of the trainings are team building, the development of communicative competence of students (two grades 6^th and one the 11th grade). Another training course is to help students in choosing the profession (8th grade). Were also made presentations for teens on violence issues and a session for parents on child development. All together we conducted 9 sessions in January. We will continue the sessions in February and March. Even after first sessions employees of our Center saw the interest of children and a desire to continue to participate in this work.

2. Student’s practicum

This month we hosted students from Economics and Law College (major "social work”). The main purpose of the practice is the development of students' professional skills. To achieve this goal, it was decided to conduct training sessions for the students.  After the first session, which was devoted to acquaintance and immersion in the specialty students mentioned that they like to participate in the exercises, to recognize and develop their personality traits. The student’s group is composed of 15 people. Scheduled for 10 sessions (one per week).

3. Preparation of methodical materials

Specialists of the Center are writing a textbook, the goal of the text-book is to prepare students for their future careers. Textbook will include the materials on main social problems of the Ukrainian society and the ways to deal with them. The authors plan to cover not only the theory, but also to prepare interesting practical tasks that will help teachers and students to develop new professional skills. All the material are tested  in the process of teaching a course "Current problems of social work" with 3^rd and 4^th  year students from  Zaporizhzhya universities.

Textbooks is planned to be published in 2015.

A new presentation was also prepared on computer addiction and ways of its prevention for schoolchildren, their parents and teachers.

4. "We are just like you!" (work at the detention centre)

This month the detention center was visited by the students of the Zaporizhzhye National Technical University.  Students played soccer with teens. The boys had so much fun and got positive emotions from the game. The winning team received certificates for the professional play of soccer.

5. Participation in seminars and conferences

Staff of the "Florence Centre" took part in the regional seminar of medical commission. The event was broadcast on local television channels' TV-5 "and TRK" Kiev "in the evening news.

6. "Kangaroo" (work with disable children)

The "Kangaroo" provides an early social rehabilitation of children with special needs from 0 to 6 years.

Within a month, five families attended the "Kangaroo" program. For each child we did the evaluation of the progress and put the goals for the next month.

Successfully solves the main problem of the program - the socialization of children with special needs. This contributes to each child's stay in the team. We also do regular walks with the children on the playground and in the yard.

 Karen increased duration of active interaction with other kids; he involves them in the game. At the Palace of Culture he was not scared and acted like all other children, watched the show, went to dance.

Katya has further expanded vocabulary up to 20-25 words.  She has learned to cut with scissors, trace the contour shapes: circle, square, rectangle. Participate in role plays. Began to learn some elements of writing.

All children are involved in the development of motor skills - flexibility, coordination abilities, speed, endurance, strength, development of gross and fine motor skills, strengthening of the vestibular apparatus. For Maxim (cerebral palsy) conducted a set of special exercises to stretch spastic muscles and strengthening weak muscles.

This month, two volunteers worked in physical rehabilitation and implement social and educational support for children. Two children of our staff were also very much involved in sessions which helped to improve the social integration of children with special needs.

Held four consultations for parents on psychological, educational and physical therapy issues. Once a week we have music therapy for children.

7. PR

In January we made a presentation of the work of the «Florence Centre" for the Regional Medical and Educational Commission and signed an agreement on cooperation.

We have also discussed the possibility of collaboration with the faculty of physical rehabilitation of the Institute of Law and Management of the National Technical University.

8. Work on grants application

We are actively involved in writing grant applications under the program "Healthy Generation".

9. "Volunteers"

The Center continues to recruit volunteers for the "Kangaroo program". They prepare training materials for work with children with special needs and write a script for a puppet theater stories.

10. Counseling

Was conducted individual counseling on parenting in adolescence.
