The program "We are just like you!” (Detention Center)
In January, the
workshop on team-building for employees of the Kamyshevahskaya school of
rehabilitation (Detention
Center) was organized. The
seminar was attended by 20 people. The feedback was positive; participants
received positive emotions and satisfaction. For teens was organized a
competition "The Snow Battle".
In January we have
been working on development of methodological materials for
the specialists who work with at-risk youth at the similar detention centers.
The publication of the materials is planned on March 2011.
The program "Kangaroo” (work with kids with special
needs)
In January, we
continued to conduct individual and group work with children with special
needs. On the 22nd of January we had a meeting with parents.
According to the request of the parents a lecture on emotional development of
children was presented.
We continue the
cooperation with the territorial social work centers and their parent's clubs.
We organized round tables with two parent's clubs on the development and
correction of emotional behavior of
children.
Program "Healthy Generation”
In January, 2011, a lecture on use of
low-alcohol drinks was conducted for school-student. Interactive lecture-presentation
with an experiment holds an absolute interest among children who actively
participated in a discussion during lecture. Possibility to see in practice the
influence of low-alcohol drinks on organic nature promoted efficiency of
theoretical material.The feedback of
children was: «We didn’t even think that alcohol has such a dramatic influence!
I want to be healthy!» In January were
summed the results of the project «Prevention of FASD». In 2010 specialists of
Center «Florence» conducted lectures for
330 groups of school-students, their parents and teachers in 44 schools of
Zaporizhzhya city and Zaporizhzhya region.
Development of educational materials
During January 2011
was developed a program of volunteer practicum for students (major in social
work) as well as tasks for the practicum (major in social pedagogy). Social workers
will have their practicum in March (4 weeks); social pedagogues will have their
practicum in February-March (6 weeks).
Lectures / trainings for social
field practitioners
For the staff of
the Centre "Florence”
training on assertiveness was held.
For instructors of
the department of International Tourism a training on "Time Management” was
conducted.
