The «Kangaroo» Program
  During the month, 11 people attended the "Kangaroo" Program.
Four consultations were given to parents related to psychological assistance to the families.
This month we continued to work on physical development of children, kids are happy to have water procedures in the open air in the pool. The guys got a lot of pleasure from the sun and water treatment!
In August, we continued the good tradition of celebrating birthdays. Children greeted Lena with a joint birthday poster with best wishes. The holiday was lots of fun! Children enjoyed colorful candles and a cake, as well as fun games.
Particularly successful this month were the group lessons in a creative workshop. Kids did things with clay and salt dough. This activity helps to develop a good imagination, children made berries. Such work develops fine motor skills, which gives impetus to the development of psychological processes.
From this month we spend more time on morning exercise, gymnastics awakening after a nap, role-outdoor games, etc.
Great joy for us was the acquisition of portable speakers. Now we have the opportunity to use music on walks, during a meal, in the swimming pool and during other activities.
In August, we have special sessions of individual training for the development of mental processes and school readiness for children who are 5 years old. We are happy with the results in the development of mathematical skills, memory, vision, logic, combining colors and shapes of one of our children.
With great pleasure the pupils of the program "Kangaroo" were present at the ceremony dedicated to the Independence Day of Ukraine. Our boys and girls sang and danced together with leading dancers and other guests. We were very happy to see how our kids with pleasure and joy communicated with children of one of the kindergartens in Zaporizhzhya!!!
  On the 31st of August we were invited to the Youth Theatre to watch the performance "The Ukraine is me!" Many thanks Zaporizhzhya regional center of social services for families, children and youth, and the Department of Social Welfare for organizing a holiday for children. Such an experience to go to public places for our children! We see it as an important step for further socialization. Our kids together with other boys and girls with pleased to participate in competitions before the performance.
Also this month shopping centre "ATB - market" gave us cookies for our kids! Now our children are be able to eat every day in the afternoon sweet and delicious cookies!
The Project "I am - Beautiful!"
 
We started a new project "I am beautiful" for the elderly people of one of the social work agencies of Zaporizhzhya.
The purpose of the project is the building of a positive image of a person. The project will last for two and a half months. Regular meetings will take place once a week (total 11 sessions). Already held three meetings with the administration and one session with a group of participants. The group consists of women aged 60 to 82 (totally 17 people). All participants showed a high level of interest and expectations of the project to improve their internal state and external image.
Juvenile Justice Program «We are Just Like You»!
 
In August, after a month's break, we were back in the detention centre. Children happily greeted us with smiles. According to the teachers, the boys could hardly wait for our arrival, because for them it is a big event.
This time we presented to children mental health component of healthy way of life. It helped them to understand better their emotions and feelings, taught them how to express and control themselves. After all, the correct expression of their feelings is a pledge not only health, but also a positive relationship with others. Teens try to perform even the most complex tasks. For example, in one of the exercises they had to walk as slowly as possible from start to finish, to learn to control their impulsivity. Guys were surprised at such a task, though initially it seemed very easy. Therefore, the winner turned out to be the teenager, who was able to control his emotions and feelings. The children were very pleased with our collaboration.
But the biggest surprise this time was a water fight, in which everybody could take part. And who would refuse in a hot summer day to have a shower of cold water! Children were divided into two teams to capture the opposing team's flag. Each participant was given water pistols. At the end of several battles they were all wet from head to toe, and the winners were happy that their cohesion helped them to captured the flag.
We ended our intense trip with a football match in which one of the teens scored as many as four goals! The best players were awarded with diplomas. |
