1. Florence Centre
During the month, the
staff of the Centre "Florence" was engaged in the planning of
activities for 2013-2014 year. Annual
report was compiled and sent to all our partners and colleagues.
Also conducted preliminary
work on the project "FASD", which will begin in September.
We did the planning of
the activities to the 5th anniversary of "Kangaroo". Were also interviewed more than 20 people for the positions of social pedagogue and nanny. And
made a decision not to hire new people now as the number of people allows to
keep only three staff members for the "Kangaroo project”.
In August, the Center
"Florence" started to
establish the relations with NGO”s working with
disable children in Zaporizhzhye.
2. "Kangaroo"
(work with disable children)
Within a month, 10
people attended classes under the "Kangaroo" program. For each child was
developed a plan of his/her development,
defined goals and the steps how to achieve them.
We note some changes and
progress in work.
K. learned to answer
questions with a sentence, not a single word as she did before (for example:
the question - "Kate, what is the figure?", The answer is -
"It's a green square"). Great shift in her physical development. She
has learned how to correctly perform
morning exercises.
S. began to respond
to his name, look at the faces of people. No longer afraid of contact with other children.
I. learned to say the
numbers accurately. He also learned the
names of shapes. Calmly responds to the prohibitions. Better interact with
their children.
This month we hosted two children as volunteers (both are 9 years
old, Maxim and Andrew), which helped to improve the social integration of
children with special needs and served as
role models. With the same purpose we continue to take children to the
playground to plat with normal kids.
Six individual consultations were conducted by
specialists for parents.
Sessions began in August after a month's break.
Children become estranged from the regime of the day in a group, in connection
with the first two weeks have been a more effective individual sessions. By the
middle of the month, all children become familiar with the mode of the day,
which contributed to a more organized group lessons.
