In August the "Florence Center" was actively engaged in
preparing for the new year. We have
planned the activities for 2012-2013
year and have evaluated our activities in 2011-2012 year. The annual report was
prepared.
We have also recruited a new staff to work on the program
"Kangaroo". Specialists worked on teaching materials for kids and
conducted initial screening of new children. The "Kangaroo" program
will start on September 3rd with a new group of children with special
needs.
In August we hosted children with special needs who got music classes. This coming year we plan to
use music therapy as a method of work with children.
As a part of the "Healthy Generation" project was distributed information
to schools of Zaporizhzhye about lectures and workshops which "Florence
centre" conducted.
We continue to work on grant
applications and meeting with partners.
In August in the Family club "Just a miracle" classes started with
two new groups: a family group and a women's group.
Family group sessions are traditionally held in the evening, so that
fathers could join after work. Sessions take
place three times a week.
Women's group includes pregnant women, who are trained for childbirth
and parenthood. Classes include exercises that help to reduce anxiety, fears.
Specialists use art therapy, and special attention is paid to natural pain
relief techniques (breathing, relaxation etc.).
